Ernie and Daren didn’t have solid plans for racing these cars. People had seen the cars hauled around Phoenix and would stop to express their interest. Common questions were, what is this, where do they race and where can I get one?

The first time the two Dwarf Racers finally hit the track was March 1981. Ernie and Daren were able to run a few exhibition hot laps around an 1/8 mile dirt go cart track by the name of Arrowhead Speedway in Phoenix, Arizona. The cars were an instant attraction and the new Dwarf Car racing class took off from there.
